Have you ever noticed how sneaky the enemy is when it comes to whispering lies into our hearts? He’s cunning, persistent, and knows exactly where to strike—right at our insecurities, doubts, and fears. If you’ve ever battled thoughts like “I’m not enough,” “God has forgotten me,” or “Nothing will ever change,” you’re not alone. I’ve been there, too. Yet standing firm in spiritual warfare is possible!
God has given us a weapon to silence every single lie. It’s His Word—sharp, powerful, and true.
And one of the most practical ways to stand firm during spiritual warfare is by creating a Lies vs. Truths list.
Let me walk you through how I do this in my own battle for truth—and how you can start one, too.
A Lies vs. Truths list is a simple, but powerful list that helps you recognize the lies the enemy whispers and replace them with the truth of God’s Word.
It’s a simple, yet life-changing practice where you write down the negative thoughts or false beliefs you’re struggling with—such as “I’m not worthy” or “God has abandoned me”—and then combat each one with a specific Bible verse that reveals God’s truth.
This practice strengthens your faith, renews your mind, and helps you stand firm in spiritual warfare by anchoring your heart in what God says, not what the enemy suggests.

The enemy thrives in the shadows. Lies love to hide in our thoughts, disguised as our own voice.
But when we expose those lies and hold them up to the light of Scripture, something powerful happens: we reclaim truth and take every thought captive to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).
This list becomes a lifeline—a personal arsenal of truth to fight back with when the battle is raging in your mind. It keeps you seeking God’s truth instead of believing the lies of the enemy.
This part is raw and real. You’ll need to quiet your heart, maybe grab a journal and your Bible, and be honest before God.
Ask yourself:
Write them down. For example:
Naming the lie breaks its power and brings it into the light. Once you recognize it for what it is, you can fight it with truth.

Now it’s time to fight back—with the Sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17).
For every lie, search the Word for a truth that directly combats it.
God’s Word is living and active (Hebrews 4:12), and there is a promise, a verse, a truth for every attack.
Let’s go back to the lies above and counter them:
Keep pairing every lie with a verse. Write it down. Speak it aloud.
Memorize the verses to fill you with truth. Cling to the truth and use it to cultivate a Christ-centered mindset, where you’re focused on the Lord, not your circumstances.

This list isn’t just for one moment—it’s for everyday battles.
Stick it in your journal, tape it to your mirror, screenshot it on your phone—whatever you need to do to keep truth in front of your eyes and heart.
When the enemy whispers, you’ll have your response ready: “It is written…”
Just like Jesus did in the wilderness (Matthew 4), we fight lies with the Word.

Friend, you don’t have to be strong in your own power. You don’t need the perfect comeback or flawless faith.
What you need is God’s truth—and the willingness to wield it as the most powerful weapon you have.
His Spirit is your strength. And His truth will never fail.
So today, I encourage you: sit with the Lord, write the lies down, and meet them with His Word.
Your heart will find His peace, your mind will find His clarity, and your soul will stand firm—rooted in the truth that sets you free.
You are not alone in this battle.
You are equipped.
And in Christ, you are victorious against the ploys of the enemy.
